Ghi champion wrestler

Dominic Ghi of Ashley Falls, Mass., took home the gold medal in the 120-pound division of the Massachusetts Youth Wrestling Championships Sunday, March 11, in Ludlow, Mass.

Ghi is a member of the Mt. Everett Youth Wrestling Club, coached by Jim Wolfe. Ghi was the fourth seed in his bracket and received a bye in his first round.

In the semi-final match Ghi faced top seed T.J. Crabtree (North Andover) in what turned out to be a no-holds-barred brawl for three periods, leading up to a sudden death overtime. The match went back and forth until Ghi was able to execute a gator-style roll for the win.

Ghi then pinned the No. 2 seed Stephen Piascik (Springfield) to secure top honors.

Ghi also wrestled with the Mt. Everett High School varsity in the 125 pound division. He ended his high school season with 19 wins, 14 losses and a fifth place-finish in the Western Massachusetts D-III state tournament.

Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
