Community comes out for A Night For Jason
WASSAIC — The Lantern Inn and The Wassaic Project co-hosted a benefit for Wassaic Fire Company Captain Jason Whaley on Friday, July 27.
Whaley was recently diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer after going in and out of the hospital for months and having had several surgeries.
Whaley has been a volunteer fireman for more than 18 years, beginning with J.H. Ketcham Hose Company in Dover Plains and most recently with the Wassaic Fire Company.
The overwhelming response to the event raised more than $35,000 to help support Whaley through this difficult time.
