Kent Wine and Spirit: Happy to stay open Sundays

KENT — There hasn’t exactly been a rush among liquor store vendors to remain open seven days a week.

Even though a few vendors have chosen to take advantage of the new law allowing Sunday sales, many Northwest Corner vendors have chosen to remain closed that one day each week.

Kent Wine and Spirit is one of the exceptions. Proprietor Ira Smith said it’s still too early to know how being open seven days a week will affect his profits.

“The main effect will be generally positive for those liquor and wine merchants genuinely committed to their clientele and communities,” he said.
