85th Annual Amenia carnival kicks off July 4th

AMENIA — The 85th Annual Amenia Fire Company’s Carnival and Parade will kick off this year on Wednesday, July 4, and continue through Saturday, July 7.

“Hopefully we’ll get a good crowd and good weather,” said Rescue Squad Lieutenant and Carnival Committee member Andy Murphy.

The parade will take place, as is tradition, on Friday, July 6, beginning at 7 p.m.

“We currently have 25 fire departments signed up. It’s going to be a big parade,” he said.

Murphy added that the usual ball clubs, auxiliaries and marching bands will also be in attendance.
