Last Monday, I had the opportunity to attend the 2012 Connecticut Main Street Awards Gala. Connecticut Main Street is the subordinate program to the national Main Street program, which is part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The stated purpose of Connecticut Main Street is to inspire great Connecticut downtowns, and serve as an advocate and resource for vibrant and sustainable Main Streets as foundations for healthy communities. The town of Winchester is a member of Connecticut Main Street (through Friends of Main Street).
