Pine Plains hopes to save library, wants input

PINE PLAINS — The Town Board held a meeting in the Heart of Pine Plains (HoPP) community center on June 7 for the sole purpose of gathering ideas from residents regarding financial woes facing the library building.

The building, which houses the Pine Plains Free Library and HoPP, is owned by the Foundation for the Pine Plains Library and Community Center. A foreclosure action has started against the foundation, but is not complete. The group owes $1.5 million on the building.
