Whiting Mills artists to hold open studios event this weekend

WINSTED — More than 25 artists, including guest artists from surrounding towns, will participate in the Whiting Mills open studio event on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days and will include a large selection of guest artists and musical performances.

Multimedia artist Gay Schempp was one of the first artists to move into the building on 100 Whiting St. seven years ago.

When she moved in, there were only two other artists who had studios in the building.
