Contracts are binding, says school board attorney

FALLS VILLAGE — At a special meeting of the Region One Board of Education May 17, as the board discussed what to do in the wake of the proposed spending plan’s defeat at the May 8 referendum, both Scooter Tedder of Salisbury and Marilyn Yerks of Sharon expressed some frustration at not having an opinion of the board’s attorney handy on the question of whether or not the contracts for Region One administrators are valid.

In a May 22 email to board Chairman Phil Hart of Cornwall, board attorney Gary Brochu wrote:
