Children’s interest in gardening grows with Sprouts club

NEW HARTFORD — The New Hartford Garden Club, a nonprofit local environmental organization, celebrated its 50th anniversary this spring by forming a youth division appropriately named Sprouts. The traditionally adult club has long recognized the need for children to have available safe, educational and fun nature activities and wanted to educate children about where food comes from and how it is grown.
