Future spending on hold

WINSTED — The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a budget freeze for the current fiscal year of 2011-12 during its meeting on Monday, April 16.

The vote was 5-0, with Selectmen Candy Perez and Ken Fracasso not present at the meeting.

As per the motion, all budget line items in the 2011-12 budget are frozen, except for any expenditures formally approved by Town Manager Dale Martin and the town’s finance department.

The motion was made to freeze the budget by Mayor Maryann Welcome.
