Students jumping to support charity

The Barkhamsted School held their “Jump Rope For Heart” event last week to raise money for The American Heart Association. At Barkhamsted School, the event is named for Spencer Pelchat, a former student at the school who died of heart disease at a young age. At the event, students from the first grade to sixth grade get sponsors for their jump roping. Participants in the event included (from left) Lela Motes, 8, Jana Sanden, 9, and Ryan McGrath, 8. The amount of money raised by the school was not known at press time.
