Lois Johnson

MERIDEN — Lois Johnson, Republican deputy registrar of voters for 28 years, died at the age of 100 and eight months on Feb. 18, 2011, in Meriden. She was formally of Winchester. She was the widow of Theodore C. Johnson Sr.

Born May 6, 1910, in West Haven, she was the daughter of the late Mable (Shaw) and Harry Pond. She was a 1929 graduate of The Gilbert School.

Lois was also employed for many years at the Hudson Wire Co., Mason Silk Co. and by the tax collector’s office in Winsted.

She is survived by a daughter, Beryl Reilly of Southington; her nephews, James Boyko of Rhode Island and Carl Pond and his wife, Dolores, of Harwinton; his niece, Barbara Levine and her husband, Richard, of Florida; her grandchildren, Dr. Joan Reilly of Georgia, Kevin Reilly of Arizona, Lisa Sacco and her husband, Michael, Christopher Johnson and his wife, Tina, and Lori Johnson and her fiance, John Chargua, of Arizona; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Pond; her sister, Beryl Pond Boyko; her daughter, Joan Buttafuso; and her son ,Theodore C. Johnson Jr.

The family would like to thank the great staff of the Connecticut Baptist Home for their compassion and great care of their loved one.

The funeral will take place at a later date in Winsted.
