Hearing set on expansion of Stissing Mountain’s critical environmental area

Residents neighboring Stissing Mountain will be notified of the proposed expansion of the mountain’s critical environmental area by mail. PINE PLAINS — The public hearing on the expansion of Stissing Mountain’s critical environmental area was set at the Thursday, March 17, Town Board meeting after a lengthy discussion among the board, Attorney to the Town Warren Replansky and Carvel attorney Jennifer Van Tuyl.

The expansion is being closely watched by those behind the Carvel Property Development, which was proposed a number of years ago by real estate tycoon and Manhattan developer Douglas Durst.
