NORTH EAST — A raging inferno was extinguished on Saturday, March 19, at a farm on Route 22 between McEnroe Organic Farm and Haight Road. Millerton Fire Company Chief Jason Watson said the fire started about 2:45 p.m. “The barn was fully involved by the time we got there,” he said, “and about three or four acres of field were on fire as well.” Brush trucks and tankers were brought in, and seven local fire departments (Millerton, Amenia, Wassaic, Sharon, Cornwall, Canaan and Lakeville all responded) were on the scene for about four hours.
