Accident injures two

AMENIA β€” Two Pennsylvania men were injured in a motorcycle accident on Thursday, June 9, shortly before 2 p.m.

According to the New York State Police, the men, John Tharp and Edward Moran, were traveling with a group of approximately 15 motorcycles on Route 44 when they failed to navigate a sharp curve on DeLavergne Hill. They went off the road and down a steep embankment.

β€œIt was a pretty bad accident. We had to fly one person out,” said Amenia Fire Chief Shawn Howard, who also said that the group had been planning the trip for two years.
