Donald Simmons, 58, was arrested again on charges of possessing child pornography by the state police on Feb. 2, 2017.

The charges date back to 2015. The police interrogation of Simmons took place at the Osborn Correctional Institution in Somers, Conn., where according to the police arrest warrant he has been incarcerated for almost two years.

Simmons, a former resident of Sharon Valley Road, was convicted in 1995 of harassment in the second degree, and in 2010 of sexual assault in the second degree, tampering with a witness and violation of probation.

WINSTED — The following information was provided by the Winchester Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
Criminal mischief
Kyle Hood, 30, 100 Lake St., apt. 9, Winsted, was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. A $1,000 non-surety bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear in court Jan 9.

Convicted of burglary, prisoner moved to Niantic

A woman convicted of numerous residential burglary cases in the Northwest Corner that took place in 2008 was moved from a New York prison to begin serving her term.
Jennifer Lynn Johnson, 41, was taken into custody on Oct. 12 at the Taconic Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, N.Y., by detectives from the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad. She was taken to the York Correctional Institute in Niantic, Conn., to serve a 5-year sentence.

Correction

A police blotter entry in the Aug. 18 edition contained information incorrectly reported by State Police. At a motor vehicle accident in North Canaan Aug. 8, the driver who failed to yield to oncoming traffic was Saige Cuddy, 17, of North Canaan. Her car hit a vehicle driven by Ashley Anderson, 21, of North Canaan. No enforcement was noted.
