Property damage
On Feb. 12 Michael Root, 21, of Winsted was charged with evading responsibility of property damage. Root was scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court on Feb. 22.

Police Blotter: Troop B

Struck a dog
On Feb. 14 at 10:30 a.m. Olivia Louise Forstmann, 17, of Sharon was traveling on White Hollow Road in Sharon when she slowed for a dog that had run into the road. Forstmann was unable to avoid striking the dog. The dog appeared uninjured, but fled the scene into the woods. Forstmann’s vehicle sustained moderate front end damage.

Felony DWI arrest
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Megan L. Poirot, age 43 of Rensselaer, for felony driving while intoxicated (DWI) in connection with a crash that occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Criminal trespassing 
On Feb. 6 David Jessop, 37, of Winsted was arrested following an investigation into a reported disturbance. He was charged with criminal trespassing in the first degree and breach of peace in the second degree. He was scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court on Feb. 19.

Police Report: Winchester Police Dept.

DUI
On Feb. 2, Aralinde Herzig, 26, of Winchester was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane. She was released on a $500 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear at Torrington Superior Court on Feb. 13.

DEC Report

Milan arrest
On Saturday, Jan. 6, while on patrol in Dutchess County, Environmental Conservation Officer (EOC) Robert Hodor observed a pickup truck parked in the Lafayetteville Multiple Use Area parking lot.
