Donald Simmons, 58, was arrested again on charges of possessing child pornography by the state police on Feb. 2, 2017.

The charges date back to 2015. The police interrogation of Simmons took place at the Osborn Correctional Institution in Somers, Conn., where according to the police arrest warrant he has been incarcerated for almost two years.

Simmons, a former resident of Sharon Valley Road, was convicted in 1995 of harassment in the second degree, and in 2010 of sexual assault in the second degree, tampering with a witness and violation of probation.

Pickup hits pole

Michael Morzella, 55, of Goshen, Conn., was driving south on Westside Road in Norfolk Aug. 24. At about 4:21 p.m., near the Mountain Road intersection, he lost control. His 2004 Ford F550 hit and broke a utility pole. The truck was towed with left front end damage. Morzella was not injured. He was charged with making a restricted turn.

Jean E. Wesdorp

PINE PLAINS — Jean E. Wesdorp, 68, died unexpectedly in her sleep, at home, in Pine Plains on March 18, 2015.
She was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., in 1946, the daughter of William and Elaine Standing.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; her daughters Amy and Alison; her sisters, Kathy and Maureen; three grandchildren, Emma, Jack and Sean; and a large extended family and many friends.
She worked in child care, in special education, and later in life she was an LPN and worked as a private duty nurse, taking care of several local residents.

Driving while intoxicated
On Thursday, Feb. 19, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Deputy Sheriffs responded to the area of 505 Old Route 22 in the town of Amenia for a reported one-car automobile crash that had occurred at that location.
