Edward Henry Murphy

MILLERTON — Edward Henry Murphy, 65, a 14-year resident of Millerton and formerly of LaGrangeville, N.Y., died peacefully at home on June 5, 2018, with his loving family at his side. 

Ed was the owner and president of Tri-County Auto Glass in Lagrangeville from 1983 to May 2018. 

Born June 4, 1953, in Berlin, Germany, he was the son of the late Helga and Robert Murphy. Ed was a graduate of Millbrook High School. 

On June 4, 1977, in Mahopac, N.Y., he married Deborah L. Coelho. Mrs. Murphy survives at home. 

Patrick Joseph Moloney

AMENIA — Patrick Joseph Moloney, 82, a longtime area resident, died May 31, 2018, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y. 

Mr. Moloney was a supervisor for New York State Electric and Gas for nearly 40 years.

Born Aug. 8, 1935, in Tulla, County Clare, Ireland, he was the son of the late Catherine (Broderick) and Patrick Moloney.  

Patrick attended and graduated high school in New York and served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1953-1956 during the Korean Conflict. 

Timothy Brian Whalen

SHARON— Timothy Brian Whalen died April 6, 2018, in Douglas, Ariz., from a fatal heart attack.

Tim was born in Sharon on May 9, 1948, the son of Victoria (Hines) and Joseph Whalen. 

He graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in 1966. He was a scholar athlete. 

Claire (Magistro) DeProdocini

SHARON — It is with great sadness that the family of Claire (Magistro) DeProdocini announces her passing on June 8, 2018, at her home in Sharon with her three daughters by her side.

Claire was born in New York City on July 4, 1919. She was a gifted student, graduating from Hunter College at the age of 20, majoring in botany and physiology. She received her master’s degree from Columbia University in physical education. 

Mary Comstock

ANCRAMDALE — Mary Comstock, 97, a five-year resident of Ancramdale and formerly of Millerton, died peacefully on June 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. 

Mary was the medical records supervisor at Wassaic Development Center for more than 30 years, retiring in 1980.

Born Sept. 26, 1920, in Sharon, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Broadsky) and Ben Gansowski.

SALISBURY — Cornelia “Connie” Whittle’s memorial will be on Saturday, June 9, at 11:30 a.m. at the Salisbury Cemetery. A luncheon will immediately follow at The White Hart inn.

Joseph ‘Joe’ Solan

NORTH CANAAN — Joseph “Joe” R. Solan, 89, husband of Teresa (Perotti) Solan, passed away peacefully at his home in North Canaan, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 2, 2018. 

Joe was an all-around good guy! 

Joe was born in Sharon on Jan. 14, 1929. He was the son of Margaret (Donlon) and Richard Solan of Lakeville. 

After his graduation from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in 1948, Joe joined the U.S. Air Force, where he became an aircraft mechanic working on the B-17 and P51 Mustang. 

Peter Walters

SHARON — Peter Walters of Sharon, and formerly of Vero Beach, Fla., and Dumont, N.J., passed away on June 1, 2018, at the age of 76. 

Peter was born on July 13, 1941, in Christiansburg, Va., to the late Elizabeth and Russell Walters.
