Gianna Marie Boults

NORTH CANAAN — Gianna Marie Boults, 25, passed away on Monday evening, Sept. 23, 2019, with her parents, Lynn Digiacomo and Timothy Boults, at her bedside.

Gianna was born at Sharon Hospital in 1994, grew up in North Canaan and attended North Canaan Elementary School, then moved to Florida with her parents, where she continued her education and received her high school diploma. 

Gianna was a brave and loving young woman who dealt with adversity and life to the best of her ability. She lived her life from a place of love, always, in her heart.

David M. Rivard

NORTH CANAAN — David M. Rivard, 73, died at Sharon Hospital on Oct. 8, 2019, after being stricken at his home.  

He was the husband of Diana (Fountain) Rivard. 

David was born June 18, 1946, in North Canaan, son of the late Esther (Wright) and Napoleon Rivard. 

David worked in the human resources department of the Bicron Company in North Canaan. He had also worked at The Hotchkiss School and was a sales director of Compression Products in Sheffield, Mass.  

Betty Silbert

CORNWALL — Betty Silbert, 85, of Cornwall Bridge, died Oct. 8, 2019, at Noble Horizons in Salisbury. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born in Lamar, Colo.,where she lived until age 12, when she moved east, living first in Cornwall, where she graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School, then New York City, where she married and had her children, and then back to Cornwall where she has lived since the late 1970s.

Roger Alan Miller Donna Gail Miller-Kaplan

MILLERTON — Roger Alan Miller, 76, of Vancouver, Wash., and his sister, Donna Gail Miller-Kaplan, 73, of Millbrook, both formerly of Millerton, were laid to rest on Oct. 9, 2019, in the Miller family plot in Millerton. 

Roger Alan Miller died Oct. 6, 2018, in Vancouver.

Donna Gail Miller-Kaplan died July 14, 2018, in Poughkeepsie.

Chief Warrant Officer Miller served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1974. During the Vietnam War he received two Purple Hearts for wounds received in action and maltreatment in captivity (POW). 

Margaret Ann ‘Peggy’ Garnto

MILLERTON — Margaret Ann “Peggy” Garnto, 79, a 43-year resident of Millerton, died peacefully on Oct. 11, 2019, at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, following a nearly 20-year battle with cancer. Peggy worked for the Wassaic Developmental Center as a therapy aide prior to her retirement.

Born Aug. 16, 1940, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Margaret H. (Whitson) and Henry Stroh. Her husband, Thomas C. Garnto, predeceased her. 

Susan Annette (Wiles) Wells

NORTH CANAAN — Sue died on Oct. 8, 2019, leaving behind her husband, Hank Wells (aka Charlie), and her loving Goldens: Emma, Madison and Tinkerbell to be in heaven with Casper, Kelsey, Nellie and Kiko.

There are no calling hours or services.

Lucy (Clancy) Gould

TORRINGTON — Lucy (Clancy) Gould, 100, of Torrington peacefully passed away Oct. 7, 2019, at Valerie Manor.  She was the widow of Thomas F. Gould.

Lucy was born Aug. 11, 1919, in County Clare, Ireland, the daughter of the late Mary (Reynolds) and Stephen Clancy.  

She was employed by St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie as a registered nurse until her retirement. 

She was a member of the Taconic Grange in Sharon.

Lauren Amerighi

SHARON — Lauren Amerighi, 71, died Sept. 26, 2019, at Noble Horizons. She was the loving wife of Michael Amerighi, whom she married on Dec. 28, 1985. 

Lauren was born March 12, 1948, in Floral Park, N,Y., the daughter of the late Margaret (Epp) and Emanuel Brown. 

Lauren graduated from Garden City High School. Shortly after, she and her parents relocated to Egremont, Mass. 

Lauren worked in the medical field, as an administrative assistant, for over 40 years at the Sharon Medical Arts Center and later at Sharon Hospital. 

Judith (Leverone) Christopher

PINE PLAINS — Judith (Leverone) Christopher of Pine Plains and New York City, 88, passed away on Sept. 24, 2019. 

Born in Boston, Mass., on May 15, 1931, to Louise (Coffey) and Louis Leverone, she attended Girls Latin School and continued on to Barnard College in New York City. 

An English major, she wrote and directed the Senior Class Show. Met with great success by New York theater viewers and Barnard students, she fell in love with the theater. She remained in New York City for the rest of her life until her retirement to Pine Plains. 

Robert M. ‘Bobby’ Bartolomeo Sr.

PINE PLAINS — Robert M. “Bobby” Bartolomeo Sr., 77, of Pine Plains passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 16, 2019.

Bobby was the co-owner/operator of West End Automotive in Pine Plains; he retired in 2004. He spent more than 40 years working in the family business, where he did auto repairs and pumped gas for their many customers, always with good humor and a smile for everyone who drove in.
