Brian A. Tyler

NORTH CANAAN — Brian A. Tyler, 38, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 13, 2019. 

Brian was born Sept. 25, 1980, in Great Barrington, the son of Kathryn Frengs MacDowell and Anthony Tyler. 

He attended Mount Everett Regional High School, graduating in June 1998. In his senior year, Brian served as co-captain of the varsity wrestling team, and was the 1998 Western Mass. champion at 170 pounds. He was passionate about wrestling and about spending time with friends and family. 

Memorial service: Virginia F. ‘Ginny’ Jones

MILLERTON — A memorial service to celebrate the life of Virginia Jones will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 11 a.m. at the Northeast Baptist Church in Millerton, the Rev. Henry Prause officiating.

Ginny died on Feb. 7, 2019, in DeLand, Fla. She was a lifelong resident of Millerton until 2001, when she and her husband, Don, retired to Florida.

Daniel Walley

SHARON — Daniel Walley, 64,  passed away April 10, 2019, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. 

Danny was born June 13, 1954, in Bridgeport, Conn. He was the son of the late Eleanor A. and Daniel R. Walley. 

Danny graduated from Bunnel High School in Stratford, Conn., in 1971. 

He served in the United States Air Force in Thailand during the Vietnam War. 

Timmy Drumm

FALLS VILLAGE — Timothy Jay “Drummie” Drumm passed away suddenly on April 20,   2019. 

Timmy was born in Sharon on Aug. 27, 1958, to Donald and Barbara Drumm. He was a  graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School and was a member of the   Sharon Volunteer Fire Department. 

Timmy earned his CDL in 1994 and become a cross-country trucker for a number of years before settling down in Ohio. He missed the  beauty of his native Connecticut so returned to be closer to his multiple  family and friends. 

Beverly A. (Heath) King

NORTH CANAAN — Beverly “Bev” Ann (Heath) King passed away on April 26, 2019, at the age of 86. She was the widow of Everett “Bud” King, whom she married on Feb. 11, 1956.  

Bev was born in Great Barrington on Oct. 6, 1932, daughter of the late Anna (Walsh) and Wendell G. Heath. She lived in Monterey, Mass., for several years before moving to Great Barrington. 

Douglas Winslow

GALLATIN, N.Y. — Douglas Winslow, 68, of Gallatin, N.Y., passed away on May 1, 2019, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. 

Born on Aug. 25, 1950, in Schenectady, N.Y., Doug was one of three children born to Anna Belle (Monesko) and Edwin Winslow.

To many, he was known as Coach Winslow, a name he cherished and held with great pride. He spent decades doing what he loved most: coaching and working with countless students. 

Daniel Walley

SHARON — Daniel Walley, 64,  passed away April 10, 2019, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. 

Danny was born June 13, 1954, in Bridgeport, Conn. He was the son of the late Eleanor A. and Daniel R. Walley. 

Danny graduated from Bunnel High School in Stratford, Conn., in 1971. 

He served in the United States Air Force in Thailand during the Vietnam War. 

Marjorie Sitter

COPAKE — Marjorie Sitter, 49, of Washington Road, died April 23, 2019, at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She was the loving wife of Daryl Sitter. 

Marjorie was born Nov. 24, 1969, in Sharon, the daughter of the late Nancy (Drumm) and Gerald Ball. 

Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. 

Isadore ‘Izzy’ Tadiello

NORTH CANAAN — Isadore “Izzy” Tadiello, 97, our friend and hero and a Pearl Harbor attack survivor, passed away peacefully at his home on April 23, 2019. 

He was born Oct. 3, 1921, to Otavia and Joseph Tadiello in Winsted. He was the oldest Pearl Harbor survivor in Connecticut. He was aboard the USS Curtiss, anchored off of Ford Island, on Dec. 7, 1941. He survived the attack and continued to serve until returning to Connecticut to begin his electrical career, and established I.A. Tadiello Electric in 1960. 

John Richard ‘Jack’ Murtagh

SHARON — John Richard “Jack” Murtagh, 77, passed away April 25, 2019, at Saint Francis Hospital after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Deborah (Lee) Murtagh for 36 years.

Jack was born on Jan. 27, 1942, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to Alice (Hamilton) and John Murtagh. He was a lifelong resident of Sharon and a 1960 graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School.
