Kelly Jean (Rahn) Bannister

FALLS VILLAGE — Kelly Jean (Rahn) Bannister, 41, passed away peacefully on Feb. 15, 2018, at Sharon Health Care Center’s hospice facility after a short illness. 

She was born on June 21, 1976, in Torrington, the daughter of Paul Rahn of Fleetville, Pa., and Ann (Calverley) Audia of Alfred, Maine.

In March 2000 Kelly married Terrance Bannister and moved to Falls Village. 

George Croney Kiefer Jr.

SALISBURY — George Croney Kiefer Jr., 96, died on the evening of Feb. 10, 2018, at home with his family. 

He was born on Dec. 15, 1921, in Hamden, Conn., the only son of Hazel(Nesbit)and George C. Kiefer and brother to his older sister, Jean Otis.

George attended Hamden Hall and the Salisbury School. He received a master’s degree in forestry from Duke University. In 1942, he interrupted his studies to serve in the Navy during World War II. He was a second lieutenant in the Pacific Theater before returning to Duke to finish his degree. 

Richard Roger Hayes

SHARON — Richard Roger Hayes, 88, of Sharon, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Feb. 13, 2018. He was the loving husband of Peggy (Lyman) Hayes. 

Richard was born on Sept.17, 1929, in New York City, the son of the late Margaret (D’Orsa) and John Hayes. 

After graduating from Fordham University, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. 

Brian Scott Richardson

LAKEVILLE — Brian Scott Richardson of Lakeville died unexpectedly at the Veterans Administration Campus in West Haven, Conn., on Feb. 6, 2018. He would have been 72 on Feb. 16.

Cory Parker Flint

NORTH CANAAN — Baby Cory Parker Flint, 9 months, died Feb. 12, 2018, at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford after a brief illness. He was the beloved son of Brandon Flint and Katelynn Hoffman.

In addition to his parents, Cory is survived by his two brothers, Cole and Corbin; and his grandparents, George and Shellie Hoffman and Robert and Norma Flint.

A memorial service was held at the United Methodist Church in Lakeville on Feb. 17. All other services are private.

On Feb. 5, 2018, we lost a fervent champion of education. Gale Toensing passed away after a long struggle with an aggressive form of Parkinson’s disease.

SALISBURY — Carol Davidsen, born Mary Caroline Zimmers on Aug. 20, 1933, in Detroit, Mich., died peacefully on Jan. 28, 2018, surrounded by her three loving daughters at her home in Noble Horizons.  She was 84.

Jeanne D. Day

PINE PLAINS — Jeanne D. Day, 45, died unexpectedly on Feb. 15, 2018, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, N.Y.

She was born on May 8, 1972, in New Haven, Conn., the daughter of Denise (Kamienski) Rapuano and the late Anthony Rapuano. 

Jeanne was operations manager for Sand Road Animal Hospital in Falls Village for more than 20 years.  

She trained, boarded and was a handler at the Westminster dog show. 

On Sept. 1, 2003, in Red Hook, N.Y., she married Daniel J. Day.
