Olive ‘Cassie’ Lattimer

SHARON — Olive “Cassie” Lattimer, 102, passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2018, at Sharon Health Care.  She was the widow of Eugene “Gene” Lattimer, to whom she was married for 50 years. 

She was highly thought of by all who knew her and she will be missed.

Carol (Winnen) Green

ASHLEY FALLS, Mass. – Carol (Winnen) Green, 75,died Oct. 30, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Conn., after a battle with cancer.  

She was the wife of Harold Green.  

Carol was born Dec. 15, 1942, in Mount Clemens, Mich., the daughter of the late Alma (Radtke) and Peter A. Winnen.

Carol was employed as a hairdresser.  

Her true passion was her love of dogs.  Carol showed and bred Shih Tzus.

John T. Arnold

LAKEVILLE — John T. Arnold, 81, died suddenly after a fall on Nov. 5, 2018. 

He was born on Nov.18, 1936, in Lancaster, Pa., the son of Helen (Trescher) and Harris Arnold. 

John was a graduate of The George School in Newtown, Pa., Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., and New York University in New York, N.Y. 

Louise (Rudd) Hannegan

LAKEVILLE — Louise (Rudd) Hannegan died peacefully at her home in Lakeville on Nov. 5, 2018, at the age of 88. 

Bernice June McAvoy

WINSTED — Bernice June McAvoy, formerly of Amenia, NY and most recently of Winsted, passed away at her son’s home on Nov. 10, 2018.  

At her side was her loving son, David, and his wife, Karrie, and their children Anna, Emily  and Andres. 

“June,” as she liked to be called, was born Aug. 31, 1944, in Sharon, to Bernice (Loper) and Ralph Valyou.  

Mary (Mulready) Shanley

SALISBURY — Mary (Mulready) Shanley, 71, passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on Oct. 31, 2018, after a long illness. 

Mary was born on June 29, 1947, in New York City, N.Y., to parents Mary and Thomas Mulready. A graduate of Fordham University, Mary was a fun-loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Memorial George Kiefer binoculars

SALISBURY — On Sunday, Nov. 4, a few longtime friends and colleagues that the late George Kiefer developed over the years gathered at Bartholomew’s Cobble in Sheffield, Mass. A representative of The Trustees of Reservations, Thad Kubis, accepted the donation of two pairs of inscribed binoculars as a memorial honoring George for his decades of conducting bird walks and bird counts along the meandering Housatonic River flyway. 

Milton R. ‘Jody’ Killmer

SHARON — Milton R. “Jody” Killmer, 59, of Philmont, N.Y., passed away on Oct. 30, 2018, at his residence.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1959, in Sharon, a son of the late Charlotte (Brendline) and Raymond Killmer.

Jody had been employed for more than 40 years by Arnoff Moving and Storage in Millerton until his recent illness.

Raised in Millerton, Jody was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing along with tending to his gardens.

Courtney Jessica Worthington

FALLS VILLAGE — Courtney Worthington, 38, passed away on Oct. 19, 2018, after a long illness. 

Courtney was born on June 2, 1980, in New Britain, Conn. Growing up on Music Mountain in Falls Village, Courtney attended the Lee H. Kellogg School and Housatonic Valley Regional High School, then obtained a degree in English from Suffolk University in Boston.

Shirley May (Brazee) Leone

SALISBURY — Shirley May (Brazee) Leone, 76, of Salisbury died Oct. 20, 2018.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jay Leone.

Shirley was born in Salisbury on Dec. 14, 1941, the daughter of the late Charlotte (Sherman) and William Brazee.

She enjoyed camping, doing craft projects and being a homemaker.
