Mary Ann E. (Rutledge) Polowa Miller

NORTH CANAAN — Mary Ann E. (Rutledge) Polowa Miller was born in North Canaan on Sept. 26, 1939, to Ann and Leonard Rutledge. 

She was raised in a multigenerational home: three generations living and working at her grandfather’s hotel.

Peter Kuba

LAKEVILLE —Peter Kuba, 75, of Lakeville died Oct. 5, 2018, at Englewood Community Hospital in Englewood, Fla.

Peter was born Aug. 20, 1943, in Reichenberg-Sudetenland. In 1945 his family (mother, grandmother and two brothers) were forced to flee that area relocating to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, and making that home.

Doris Barbara Bianchi

NORTH CANAAN — Doris Barbara Bianchi, 87, died peacefully with her family around her, on Oct. 9, 2018, at the Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she resided the last two years. 

Doris was born on April 22, 1931, in Weehawken, N.J., and spent the majority of her life in Union City and Jersey City, N.J. Throughout her life, she attended various day programs that served individuals with disabilities. She loved school and “work,” and had many friends. 

David Neil Bosserman

KENT — David Neil Bosserman passed away on Oct. 31, 2017, at home in Shreveport, La., surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy illness. 

He was born on Aug. 19, 1952, in Sharon and was the youngest son of Marcia (Soule) Bosserman and George M. Bosserman. 

Rosemary McGhee

PINE PLAINS — Rosemary McGhee passed away at Vassar Brothers Medical Center on Oct. 2, 2018. She had just celebrated her 68th birthday. 

Rosemary was predeceased by her mother, Anna Leighton; her father, Frank Forrest; her stepfather, George Leighton; her brother, Alfred Forrest; and her brother-in-law, William McGhee. 

Rosemary moved from Brandon, Vt., to Pine Plains at the age of 17 to be with the love of her life, Thomas McGhee. 

Thomas survives at home in Pine Plains; they were married for 50 years. 

Gilbert Lisle Jobe

WASSAIC — Gilbert Lisle Jobe, 98, a longtime resident of Wassaic, died Oct. 4, 2018, at The Pines at Catskill in Catskill, N.Y. Mr. Jobe was a dairy farmer and owned and operated Rillside Farm in Wassaic. 

Born on Feb. 4, 1920, in Indiana, Pa., he was the son of the late Clair Gilbert and Viola Imogene (Carnahan) Jobe. Mr. Jobe was a graduate of Indiana Public School and Long Island Agricultural and Technical Institute in Farmingdale, N.Y. 

On Oct. 27, 1940, he married Evelyn Kathryn Thomas, who predeceased him on June 1, 1997. 

Thomas J. Killawee

NORTH CANAAN — Thomas J. Killawee, 89, passed away at The Wesley nursing home in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Aug. 29, 2018.

There will be a burial service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in North Canaan on Saturday, Oct. 13, from noon to 1 p.m. Then there will be a get-together with refreshments at the Bitterman Center in North Canaan from 1 to 5 p.m. 

 

Emmie Louise (Liebhart) Pilch

PINE PLAINS — Emmie Louise (Liebhart) Pilch entered eternal rest on Oct. 4, 2018.

Emmie was born on Sept. 25, 1926, in Manhattan, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Liebhart.

Emmie attended school in Rye, N.Y. She was employed by IBM in Poughkeepsie, Merrill Lynch in White Plains and most recently by Danbury Hospital as a Patient Access Associate.

Emmie was predeceased by her son, George H. Pilch, on March 22, 2017. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Liebhart and Henry Liebhart.

Anne (Hammes) Baren

CORNWALL BRIDGE — Anne (Hammes) Baren died at home in Cornwall Bridge on Aug. 16, 2018, in the company of family and caregivers. 

She was born in Syracuse, N.Y., in 1930, the daughter of  Florence and John Hammes. 

A graduate of the Albany Academy for Girls, after studying at Mannes School of Music and Barnard College, A.B., 1952, Anne stepped into a “dream job,” helping Dr. William Kolodny open and run the Grace Rainey Rodgers Auditorium at the Met.
