Barbara (Carter) Wrobel

AMENIA — Barbara (Carter) Wrobel, a resident of Stamford, Conn., and formerly of Amenia, died on Aug. 28, 2018, at age 89. 

Barbara was born on April 3, 1929, in Bronxville, N.Y., and spent her childhood in Scarsdale N.Y. Her parents were the late Judge Charles M. Carter from Washington, D.C., and Madeline Weber Carter from White Plains, N.Y. Her family moved from Scarsdale to Amenia in 1944.  She graduated from Amenia High School in 1946 and Cazenovia Junior College in 1948.

Barbara Farnsworth

WEST CORNWALL — Barbara Farnsworth, 84, of West Cornwall, died on Aug. 15, 2018, at Noble Horizons. She was the life partner of the late Harry L. Colley II.

Barbara was born on June 18, 1934, in New York City, the daughter of the late Margaret (Leczer) and William Blaha.

Judie Mills

KENT — Judie Mills, 80, of Kent, died Aug. 18, 2018, at Sharon Hospital after a brief illness.

Judie was born March 17, 1938, in Russell, Kan. 

She attended Kansas University and the Oklahoma College for Woman. 

She moved to New York City in 1960 and began a career in publishing. She worked as an art director for McGraw Hill and Franklin Watts, both in New York City, and for Millbrook Press in Brookfield, Conn. 

Richard “Rick” Allen Boardman Sr.

SHEFFIELD — On Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, Richard “Rick” Allen Boardman Sr., 57, joined his father, Dick, and sister Cindy in heaven. 

On Valentine’s Day of 1961, Dick and Carolann (Olsen) Boardman brought their only son into the world. 

Beverly Irene Wilcox

MILLERTON —Beverly Irene Wilcox, 70, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly on Aug. 15, 2018, at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 

Beverly had worked as a tea packer in the packaging department for Harney & Sons Fine Teas in Millerton for more than 11 years prior to her retirement.

Born June 6, 1948, in Sharon, she was the daughter of the late Hazel (Pulver) and Davidson Tuncy.

She was a graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School. 

Brad Allen Dickinson

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. — Brad Allen Dickinson, 33, passed away on Aug. 1, 2018, at Vassar Brother’s Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 

He was born on Sept. 22, 1984, in Great Barrington, the son of Dolores (Frenzel) and William W. Dickinson Sr. of Pine Plains. 

Brad was an electrician.

Salisbury lost a good friend last week. 

When I read Nancy Tuckerman’s New York Times obituary it was as if time stopped for Nancy when she left New York. Not true; she had a rich, full life here in Salisbury for a good portion of her time on earth. 

Phyllis Rita (Rowell) Flint

SALISBURY — Phyllis Rita (Rowell) Flint, 83, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Aug. 9, 2018,  at Noble Horizons. 

She was born in Rockland, Mass., on Feb. 1, 1935.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lindon P. Flint Sr.; and her great-grandson, Cory Parker Flint. 

She worked for many years in the laundry business.  

She loved playing cards. (especially rummy, Setback and Flinch).

She was a former member of the Lakeville Hose Co. No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary. 

Charles Barnard Gill

NORFOLK — Charles Barnard Gill, 61, passed away on July 29, 2018, in Norfolk.  

He was born Oct. 2, 1956, in Bronxville, N.Y., to Anne and Brendan Gill.  

Charlie  graduated from Tufts University in 1978 and Oxford University in 1981 with a Masters of Philosophy in English Literature.  

He is survived by his beloved  daughter, Isabel Faith Gill, 15; and his six older siblings, Brenda Gill, Michael Gill, Holly Gill, Madeleine Gill, Rosemary Gill  and Kate Gill.
