John ‘Jack’ Wandell

FALLS VILLAGE —  John Wandell,76, passed away at home on June 17, 2019, in Falls Village with his wife, Linda Erwin, and family by his side.

He was born on April 4, 1943 in Lowell, Mass., to Charlotte and John Wandell.

Thomas Nelson Osborne

WEST CORNWALL — Thomas Nelson Osborne, 54, of Fleischmanns, N.Y., drowned in an accident there on June 19, 2019. 

Born July 4, 1964, in New York City, Tom graduated from Fieldston School and attended the Mannes College of Music, receiving bachelor’s and master’s degrees. 

He later studied medicine at St. Georges University Medical School in Grenada and Manhattan, with a residency in Binghamton, N.Y.

An earlier marriage ended in divorce.

Tom is survived by his mother, Isabelle Osborne of West Cornwall. 

Tad David Jones

SALISBURY — It is with great sadness that the family of Tad David Jones, 53 of Summerton,  S.C., has gone with his Lord, after a long struggle with cancer, on July 3, 2019. 

This is a sad day for our family as Tad was loved deeply by all his  family and friends.

Tad was an inspiration to all who knew him and will be forever remembered by all for his spunkiness. 

He was a great friend to all; he had a kind gentle soul that was easily seen by anyone who ever encountered him. 

Anne Stewart-FitzRoy

LAKEVILLE — Anne P. Stewart-FitzRoy died unexpectedly on July 2, 2019, in Rockville, Md., where she had traveled to meet her brother, James, from London.  

She was born Aug. 10, 1936, in Hove, near Brighton, England, to Captain William Wentworth Stewart-FitzRoy of the Royal Navy and the former Margaret Patricia Grant.  She spent much of her childhood and schooling in the county of Cornwall, before studying at the Sorbonne and then emigrating to the United States in the early 1960s.   

Diane May (deManbey) Duebber

NORFOLK — Diane May (deManbey) Duebber, 71, lost her valiant fight against ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) on June 20, 2019. Her courage and humility in the face of this devastating disease were greatly admired by her friends and family. 

A celebration of her life takes place at the Falls Village Congregational Church on July 5 at 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Foundation. 

William A. ‘Homer’ Hall Sr.

PINE PLAINS — William A. “Homer” Hall Sr., 66, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on June 18, 2019. 

He was born on July 21, 1952, in Springfield, Vt., the son of Barbara (Pelkey) and Leon Hall. 

Homer was a heavy machine operator for over 34 years at Liberta Brothers in Pine Plains and most recently for Matt Blackburn Excavating in Gallatin, N.Y. 

John A. Campbell

MILLERTON — John A. Campbell, 39, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away on June 23, 2019, at his home. He was a passionate Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed spending his free time with his family and friends and his dog, Latte.

John was born in Hinesville, Ga., on March 11, 1980. He attended Warren Central High School. He worked in the food services industry, rising to the position of general manager of an Indianapolis restaurant.

Memorial service: Robert Sadlon

LAKEVILLE — A Celebration of Life service for Robert Sadlon, 76, co-founder of The Moviehouse in Millerton with his wife, Carol, will be held at The Moviehouse on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to noon. A reception will follow next door at 50 Main St.

Mr. Sadlon died May 15, 2019, following a battle with brain cancer. 

He is survived by his wife, Carol; and his son, Cyprian.

Whitney North Seymour

SALISBURY — Whitney North Seymour, 95, died on June 29, 2019.  A graveside funeral service will be private. 

The Rev. Edward A. Loper

MILLERTON — The Rev. Edward A. Loper, 64, completed his life journey on June 23, 2019, at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, La., due to complications from pancreatic cancer.

Ed was born on March 17, 1955, in Sharon to Raymond and the late Corene Loper. He grew up in Millerton.
