COLEBROOK — The state has awarded the Colebrook Land Conservancy a grant of $81,000 to help with the purchase of 87 acres of undeveloped land on Deer Hill. The funds come from the state’s Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition program.

There are at least two threatened or endangered species on the property, which has a forest with traditional hardwoods and headwater stream habitats similar to those found at the Algonquin State Forest in Winsted.
